Sunrise in Falmouth, Cornwall

This week for our fourth adventure Mr P decided to take me to watch a sunrise. This is something that I have been wanting to do since the summer, but never quite managed it. We left home at 7.50 am as the sun was due to rise at 8.15am. Armed with the camera and expectations we drove to Swanpool Beach. This is only a 10 minutes drive away, which was great. It was really lovely being out so early in the morning with very few people around, everything feels so still and peaceful, listening to the waves crashing against the rocks, the birds flying freely around the shore and the odd early morning runner, a truly tranquil time.

We headed across the cliff path from Swanpool to Gyllyngvase Beach, stopping along the way to watch the sunrise, it was so beautiful watching the sky and clouds changing their colour as the sun rose above the horizon, it felt a surreal experience. At first I could only see the tip of the sun rising, within minutes it was in the middle of the sky.

It really is a lovely magical experience and I can’t believe I have never done this before!!

Once we watched the sunrise, we walked Bella (our Goldie) and Mr P treated me to a fabulous breakfast at Gylly Beach Cafe, a full Cornish breakfast and a decaf latte, delicious…. It was so nice to sit outside in January eating my breakfast watching the beach come to life… People walking their dogs, swimmers heading in for a morning dip and children playing.

I throughly enjoyed this experience it was amazing, the breakfast just topped it off!!
