So Mr P and I ventured to North Cornwall for our Eighth Anniversary Adventure… For some unknown reason we very rarely end up on the North Coast, I’m not sure why!!
The North Cornwall Coast is so beautiful with its unspoilt coastline and stunning uninterrupted sea views, the perfect place to go for a walk with Bella.
Today we walked across the Pentire headland with its rugged footpaths, we walked out to the point before heading back towards the Lewinnick Lodge. This is a short walk and can be uneven in places but it is a walk that is suitable for all ages, especially on this particular morning as it was glorious which made it a truly beautiful location with the sea as its stunning back drop. What more could a girl want… Well a spot of lunch would be nice!!
As we walked into the Lewinnick Lodge we were greeted by its delightful, airy and friendly atmosphere, the restaurant had an amazing colour scheme which complimented the sea and felt like they were bringing the outside in. After walking through the bar area I was transfixed by the fabulous decking which wraps itself around the back of the lodge over looking the sea.
We chose a table outside in the sun and enjoyed the stunningly beautiful views whilst ordering our meal. What made this experience even more pleasant was the fact that Bella was able to join us. Our choice from the extensive all day menu was the seafood platter to share and a side order of chips, with a little glass of fizz, well, it was the bank holiday weekend after all. Breakfast is served from 8am till 1130am and the all day menu from midday till 10pm.
Leaving the lodge and feeling full Mr P had the idea of going to Perranporth Beach and sitting in the dunes, whilst listening to some of the annual music festival (Tunes In The Dunes) that was there this weekend..
We walked along the beach with Bella, the beach was vast with golden sand stretching across approximately 2 miles of the coastline… coupled with the tide being out it made the beach feel huge.. As we were rapidly being pulled towards the water by Bella (she is a Golden Retriever!!) it’s impossible to keep her out of the sea, we spotted an amazing bar on the beach called the Watering Hole, this place was absolutely buzzing and it so reminded me of the beaches I used to visit when I lived in Australia, I really felt like I was in another country and not Cornwall, it was a rather nice surprise.
As we headed across the beach to the east side and behind the main stage we found the perfect resting place for us to sit and listen to the tunes.
We had a lovely relaxing and most enjoyable day… One that I’m hoping to repeat.
