For our fifth adventure I decided to treat Mr P to a Sunday roast at Carbis Bay Hotel. This is something we have talked about on several occasions but never quite made it, for various reasons! It was amazing!! On arrival we could hear the delightful sounds of the piano being played, lovely soft up to date tunes which we recognised.
I was immediately wowed by the chandeliers in the corridor, so beautiful and elegant, it felt a little extravagant. We were escorted into the conservatory whilst we waited for friends to join us and given the option to choose where we wanted to sit. We chose to sit by the window and watched the sea rolling backwards and forwards as the tide was on its way in.
Also we notice some hand gliders gliding through the air over the land and sea, a truly tranquil place to relax. Our friends arrived about 10 minutes later and we were offered a complementary drink and shown to our table in the restaurant. The menu had a choice of 3 starters and 4 mains, including a vegetarian option as well as 3 dessert choices, being sugar free we declined the dessert. I ordered the salmon and prawn salad for starters and roast beef for main.
The food was delicious and the staff were very accommodating. It was lovely to have silver service and attention to detail which I feel is lost in so many establishments these days. We were not rushed, it was truly beautiful, a real treat sitting in a such stunning restaurant with fantastic views, enjoying great company. Once we had finished our meals we asked if we could have a coffee in the lounge area, we sat on a big comfy sofa in front of the fire, it has a remote control for you to adjust the temperature.
I have to say that this felt like a bit of an indulgence which I would definitely like to repeat. Highly recommend this for a lunch or evening meal, the spa also looks fantastic, may indulge in a treatment on our next visit!!
